How many times can I re-invoke this piece which, while called ghosts, is really about stopping time? The exposure of the image of stopped time has called some to question the symbolic time I’ve captured, the passage of hours between clocks, as if these clocks still run. I made them first as images of clocks from my late grandfather’s life long collection. As they haunted me, I kept working on making them physically substantive, if small, and long lasting as one may thing of trying to possess ether or time… With struggle. First in 2010 as contact sheets, then 2011 with graphite and silver leaf. Most recently I’ve rephotographed, with a slightly different selection of the collection for the 2013 Palladium prints on wisp thin paper. This is a partial catalog.
